The Carson House, a massive three-story structure with log walls at its core, was built by two generations of Carsons. Col. John Carson began constructing his log home on Buck Creek in 1793.

Green River Plantation was built between 1804-1807. The plantation house was built by Joseph McDowell Carson, son of Col. John Carson, who built Carson House at Marion, North Carolina.

History of Vesuvius Vineyard/Plantation Is the oldest standing home in Lincoln County located between Denver and Iron Station. Built in 1792 by General Joseph Graham. Located on the property are the remnants of the iron furnace built by Graham in 1790.
